About the Opportunity

A not-for-profit, community-based health system serving more than 895,000 people across northern Indiana and northwest Ohio is accepting applications for an Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor. With more than 17,000 employees, the organization is the largest employer in its region.

The pharmacy department has provided advanced pharmacy services for decades, offering a progressive pharmaceutical care environment across a variety of practice settings, with tremendous growth in ambulatory care including primary care, hospital-based clinics, specialty clinics, and a retail/specialty pharmacy. Inpatient services include interdisciplinary rounding and surgical/critical care and oncology satellite pharmacies. Pharmacy leadership includes dedicated managers for each facility and service type, with supervisors in each area supporting daily needs and department projects alongside lead pharmacists and lead technicians.

The Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor oversees a growing ambulatory line of business, collaborating with organizational leaders to align operations and implement strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have excellent people skills, be a strong team member and leader, be comfortable with autonomy and self-motivated, be skilled in communication and conflict management, and be able to deconstruct a process to drive improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the ambulatory clinical pharmacy line of business
  • Advance new ambulatory pharmacy projects and strategic initiatives
  • Work in collaboration with a second Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor to support more than 35 FTEs across services including Primary Care, Pulmonology, Endocrinology, Weight Management, and Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology
  • Apply strong clinical and operational knowledge, including regulatory and billing expertise in both physician and hospital settings
  • Support department projects in conjunction with lead pharmacists and lead technicians
  • Foster a culture where the success of the team is paramount and individual contributions are recognized

 

Qualifications

Education

  • Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution
  • Completion of a PGY2 ambulatory care residency program, a PGY1/2 HSPAL program, or equivalent experience

Licensure

  • Pharmacy licensure, or eligibility, in Indiana

Experience and Skills

  • Leadership experience required
  • Three years of healthcare supervision preferred
  • High level of ambulatory clinical and administrative skills
  • Enthusiasm for patient care
  • Interpersonal skills needed to interact effectively with health professionals, patients, residents, and students
